Medical Transit Chaperone Program

Each year, over 5.8 million Americans delay their medical care due to a lack of transportation -- but it doesn't have to be that way. This is particularly important for preventative care services, which may not be immediately essential, but are critical to ensuring long-term health.

Hospitals and surgery centers typically don't permit patients to use taxis, Ubers, Lyfts, or public transportation after procedures involving sedation. However, the hospital will allow these options if a chaperone is present to accompany the patient.

Our Medical Transit Chaperone Program is a nonprofit procedure aide and chaperone program designed for patients who want to Uber/Lyft or take public transportation home after surgeries. We provide safe, reliable, and compassionate accompaniment from surgery centers directly to your home.

We are based locally in the East Bay Area and serve many local providers and regional surgery centers.

For patients, we are easily reachable by phone or email to schedule a volunteer chaperone or get more information about our services.

For providers, we are open to expanding partnership opportunities and eager to improve access to preventative care to our Bay Area communities.

Let us help ensure that you or your patients never miss an important procedure due to transportation barriers. Call us at 925-326-7341, email at bayareahealthresources@gmail.com, or fill out our form below.
